Elope on Tasmania’s Wild East Coast

June 8, 2021

Tasmania

Tasmania’s east coast, with its natural beauty, spectacular landscapes and long beautiful beaches, offers a magnificent backdrop for an elopement. Surrounded by beaches of the beautiful Bay of Fires, along with historic townships and fresh seafood.

Five national parks spread along the coast including the stunning Freycinet National Park with its pink granite mountains, white beaches and crystal clear sea.

We recommend flying into Hobart, hiring a car and driving an hour and 40 minutes to experience Tasmania’s wild East Coast – one of the best scenic coastal drives in the Australia.

Thalia Haven

Thalia Haven is set on a private 130-acre wooded peninsula surrounded by the crystal blue waters of Great Oyster Bay on Tasmania’s East Coast. Thalia Haven is the perfect location for an intimate elopement or a small celebration of up to 8 guests.

Organise a private chef to create an intimate dinner at Thalia Haven or enjoy a special dining experience at one of the local restaurants.

Just outside Coles Bay on the Freycinet Peninsula, Freycinet Marine Farm is a working oyster farm that also offers a dine-in option on their deck (or takeaway if you’d prefer). Their oysters are fattened in Great Oyster Bay and they also serve locally-caught salmon, crayfish and abalone. Farm tours and tastings are available with Oyster Bay Tours.
